EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
The on-screen schedule grid showing what's currently airing and what's coming up next on each channel.
An EPG is a separate data source from the channel stream itself, usually delivered via a distinct URL in XMLTV format, matched to your playlist through shared channel identifiers. A channel can stream perfectly while its guide data is missing, since the two systems operate independently.
