Streaming & Delivery
CDN (Content Delivery Network)
A geographically distributed network of servers that deliver content from a location near you, rather than one central server.
Instead of every viewer's request traveling to one distant data center, a CDN serves it from a nearby "edge" server, cutting down distance and delay. This is a major reason a stream starts almost instantly regardless of where you're physically located, and why streaming providers with strong CDN infrastructure tend to perform more consistently across regions.
